Everyone who watched the last scene of the movie '3 Idiots' were stunned by two things.. One that Aamir Khan was really Phunsukh Wangdu and not Ranchhoddas and two by the Mind Blowing location of the shoot!

"Pangong"

Pangong Experience: Nature is creator of such immense beauty that I fall short of words to describe it here. Pangong Tso;-) a dream come true location!!!! The moment you reach the lake, you are simply taken aback by the colours of the lake which keep on changing with the rays of the sun!! You are totally laid back while you Enjoy wonderful 'Maggi' by the side of the lake in one of the shacks on the shores of the lake. It's simply heaven on earth..one of the most beautiful places of the world. view is simply unbelievable and breath taking..you got to see it to believe it..4 shades of blue are visible at one time in the lake .. jannat. i fell in love with leh ladakh. people must definitely go to leh ladakh. they will surely come to know that there is no point spending you money spending holidays in swiss watching some stupid mini lakes of zurich, geneve etc . the pangong lake of ladakh rules above all. people who like peace , blue water, rocky mountains, cool waves, innocent people, monastries, chanla pass khardunga la pass. please zindagi me ek baar leh zaroor jaana. even after returning to delhi i am feeling too nostalgic. visit in starting and ending of season. once you visit leh, then manali, mcleodganj, dalhousie , shimla, mussorie. etc all are tasteless and kids in front of leh.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Lamayuru: Good food, great service..... We fell in love with this restaurant! They not only served up steaming hot and fresh food, they'd also be very open to telling us if some of the food was cooked from canned vegetables. We went there whenever we were in Leh, they got so friendly with us that on a high traffic day they even requested us to give them a written order so our food wouldn't get delayed as we wait for the server to come up to us! We loved the banana fritters, nutella pancake and the hot n sour soup!! The momos were fantastic too! Shopping of design crockery, made of bone china. fine art jewellery.
Activities & things to do: 1) Carry proper winter gear including warm caps and gloves (2) Good quality Winter cream/moisturizer ( 1/2 litre bottles may not be a bad idea ) is a must if you dont want to come back sun-burnt & aged-looking. (3) Buy Apricots & Apricot Nuts (similar to almond), Seabuckthorn Pulp/Tea/Cosmetics. (4) Visit the World Garden Cafe . They serve excellent Spanish Breakfast and thin-crust wooden oven Pizzas thatll leave your stomach running if you dont check yourself ;-) (5) Buy Pashmina & Yak Wool, but only if youre relatively sure of the originality (6) Eat apples that are available for next to nothing (7) Banana/strawberry shakes that are widely available. (8) Carry your wideangle/telephoto lenses and enough memory/battery backup for your camera (9) Try Chang (light beer) (10) Buddhist Chants/Meditative Music, if interested.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Leh is well connected by flights from Delhi, Jammu and Srinagar. The frequency and timings differ with each route and with each operating Airlines and it may also change during on and off season... Who have breathing problem or asthma should avoid to visit this place. One should carry small cylinder of oxygen for emergency( not compusory) as lake of proper oxygen. take rest at least for 24 hrs to condition our selves with climate of that place.
