"Coorg - Hotel Coorg Regency."

Madikeri Experience: Coorg is one of the weekend Gateway especially for the Bangalore,Mysore and North Kerala tourists. You can reach Coorg in 5-6 hours from Bangalore.The must see places are - Kushal Nagar Golden Temple, NisargaDama( for kids- they can feed the deer), Raje Seat, Abby Falls,Fort, Omkareshwara Temple, Dubere Elephant Camp. If you reach Dubera elephant camp by 9.30 AM to see the elephants coming for bath and you can feed the elephants. There is a river rafting facility which one can enjoy. You can see lots of greenery if you take the route from Dubera to Madikeri. There are places like Thalakavery, Bagamanadala around 80 Kms away from Madikeri.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: The food from Hotel East End and Hotel Coorg International are very good. For traditional foods one needs to visit the small shops in the city. You can purchase spices from a shop near the bus stand.
Activities & things to do: River Rafting in Dubera and visit at Elephant Camp.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: If you are from Bangalore, start early morning and try to reach Dubera by 9.30 AM. It will take around 6 hours to reach Dubera including a breakfast break Visit Raja Seat, Fort , Omkareshwara temple in the afternoon to save time. You need to spend one day for visiting other places like Thalakavery, Bagamandaa and Nagarhole . On the way back from Madikeri, in th morning visit Nisargadama and Kushal Nagar so that you can save time and reach Mysore by noon. If you can reach Mysore in teh afternoon you may get some time for visiting Rangantitta or Mysore palace or Vrindavan Gardens.Its better to plan your trip in such a way that you spend 2 days in Madikeri.
