About Tollygunge Club
The Tollygunge Club is a country club located in Tollygunge. The club is also known as ‘Tolly’ and offers an 18-hole golf course, among other facilities. Sir William Cruikshank established it in 1895 as an equestrian sports facility.
The Tollygunge Club Limited acquired the entire property from the Mysore family, the previous owner of the property. The aim of establishing this club was to ‘promote all manner of sports.’ The club spans an area of more than 100 acres and comprises a 200 years-old clubhouse. Majority of the tropical plants and flowering trees surrounding the club grounds have been brought from South America and Australia. The plants and trees act as a natural sanctuary and is the home to various exotic birds.
